There is a deception in our relationship with Social Media. Our generation makes the mistake of equating proximity with intimacy. Admiration with connection. Getting likes is not the same as being loved.
Having 5,000 Instagram or Facebook friends is not the same as sharing your heart with a close friend. And there are many people who spend their entire lives on social media and receive more views, but they feel less known. There’s a reason why some people spend their entire lives touching that tiny button in the upper right corner of the screen.
They spend their whole life clicking, refresh, refresh, refresh, but never end up refreshed.
Why? Because you were designed to be deeply connected to other people in relationships.
